Privacy Policy

The short version is below in one paragraph. The fuller version follows for anyone who wants it.

Last updated 21 August 2026.

The short version: we don't collect your data ourselves, because we don't have anywhere to send it. There's no account system and nothing here is sold or shared. The exceptions are advertising (see section 3): if an ad is showing on the page, our advertising partner may use a cookie for it, with your consent asked first; and the fact that Cloudflare serves you this page, so it sees your IP address without us ever seeing it (see section 4). Everything else this site remembers about you, game progress, streaks, ticket-checker inputs, stays in your own browser and never reaches us.

1. What we don't collect

We don't require an account to use any part of this site, don't run our own analytics, and don't sell, share, or have any way to access your data ourselves, because nothing you do here is transmitted to a server we control. The whole site runs client-side, in your browser. Two things sit outside that: advertising, covered fully in section 3, where an advertising partner may use its own cookies when an ad is showing; and the companies that serve you the page at all, covered in section 4. We control neither and receive nothing from either.

2. What lives on your device

Some tools save information locally in your browser's storage (technically, localStorage) purely so the site remembers things between visits: your generator preferences, arcade game progress and streaks, an optional display name if you choose to use the arcade's Ledger, and numbers you've entered into the simulator.

Including a phone number or an email address, if you use the share buttons. The generator can send a set of numbers to yourself or a friend by SMS, WhatsApp or email. Whatever you type into that box is remembered on your device so you do not have to type it again next time. It is handed to your own phone or mail app to actually send the message, and it is never transmitted to us, because there is nowhere here for it to go. If you would rather it were not kept, clearing this site's browser data removes it, and the section below applies to it exactly as it does to everything else.

All of this data:

3. Advertising

This site is built to work with advertising partners (such as Google) to help cover the cost of running it for free. Here's exactly how that works, whether or not ads happen to be showing on the page you're reading this from right now:

4. The third parties that see a request

Two, and neither of them is optional for us.

Cloudflare hosts this site. Every page, image and script you load here is served by Cloudflare Pages, which means Cloudflare receives your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser's user agent, in the ordinary course of delivering the site to you. That is true of any hosted website and there is no version of this site without a host. Cloudflare also asks your browser to report network errors back to it, so if a request here fails, a short report about that failure goes to Cloudflare rather than to us. Successful requests are not reported. We do not receive any of it, and we have no account, dashboard or log where it would appear.

The typefaces come from this site, not from Google. They used to be fetched from Google Fonts, which meant your browser made a direct request to Google's servers and exposed your IP address to them. The font files are now served from this site's own domain along with everything else, so that request no longer happens and Google is not involved in showing you this page. This policy said otherwise until 21 August 2026, which was wrong from the day the fonts moved.

Google is named in section 3, but only as a possible advertising partner, and only if advertising is ever running. Nothing on this site contacts Google today.

5. Other sites we link to

We link to the official lottery operator and to support services such as Gambling Help Online and Lifeline. Those are separate organisations with their own privacy policies, which we'd encourage you to read if you're curious, we have no visibility into or control over what they do with any information you give them directly.

6. Children

This site isn't directed at children, and lottery-related tools are intended for adults 18 and over. Since we don't collect data from anyone regardless of age, there's nothing further to disclose here.

7. International visitors

People visit this site from many countries, and nothing you do here is transmitted to or stored on a server we control, wherever you are. That is not the same as nothing leaving your device at all: as section 4 explains, your IP address reaches Cloudflare because it serves you the page. We hold none of it and cannot see it, but we would rather say so plainly than claim there is no data anywhere for any law to reach. We do not target this site at any country outside Australia, we run no advertising to overseas visitors today, and we keep no profile of anyone.

8. Where this sits under Australian privacy law

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) exempts most businesses turning over $3 million a year or less, and this site is well under that. That exemption is not why this page is short, though. It is short because there is genuinely almost nothing to describe: no accounts, no sign ups, no payments, no mailing list, and nothing you type into any tool here is sent anywhere. The calculators, the simulator and the generator all run inside your own browser.

We have written this policy to the standard the Act sets out rather than the lower one the exemption would allow, and we will keep it that way if the site ever grows past the threshold, or if the exemption is removed by the reform that has been under discussion.

9. Changes to this policy

If anything material changes beyond what's already described in section 3, we'll update this page and the date at the top.

10. Contact, and how to complain

Questions about this policy, requests about anything we hold, and complaints all go to the same place: hello@southernbarrel.com.au, which reaches a real person. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

In practice there is nothing here for us to hand over or delete, because we hold nothing: everything described in section 2 is on your own device and we have never had a copy. If you ask us for it anyway, that is the answer you will get, and we will say so in writing.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
